I decided to go back in and digitally update some of my older art pieces. Here is Inktober day 10 from 2020, Hope. Again, I kept the overall design, just smoothed it out. I fixed the background so the lines were jagged as I originally intended but wasn't able to fully execute with sharpie markers. Now they're like like shadows creeping in on her. Her hair hangs in her face over her right eye, like mine did in high school. She's holding onto her little candle, even though the
My Inktober drawing, Day 13, Dune. This one is a more straightforward fan art. When I hear of Dunes, I think of the sands of Saturn, in Beetlejuice, where the Sandworms lurk. You get some interesting shots of the world in the film. However, I wanted a pulled back perspective from higher up, to see the vastness of the land, and the scope of the size of the Sandworms. #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay13 #Inktober2020Day13 #Inktober2020Dune #Beetlejuice #Sandworms #SandwormsOfSat
My Inktober drawing, Day 12, Slippery. Victoria suggested a Gelatinous Cube for the drawing of the day. I thought cute little slippery slimes were much more fun. Our main character seems absolutely horrified at these cute little balls of goo, even though they're absolutely smitten with him. #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay12 #Inktober2020Day12 #Inktober2020Slippery Chrissy.
My Inktober drawing, Day 11, Disgusting. Ever see something you just can't unsee? Or, worse yet, smell something you can't unsmell? This poor little guy has run across something downright putrid. Like, a skunk having a throw down brawl with week old hot garbage. He is trying very hard not to toss his cookies but it looks like he's about to give in to the urge. Cleanup on isle 20! #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay11 #Inktober2020Day11 #Inktober2020Disgusting Chrissy.
My Inktober drawing, Day 10, Hope. This one is a bit more personal. She is sporting a hairstyle I was infamous for in high school. Messy, dyed black, and hanging in my face, almost completely obscuring my miserable expressions from prying eyes. Here she stands, clinging to a tiny bit of hope. A single candle, burning out, wax painfully dripping down her hands, but she won't let it go. Never will she give up that hope. A fitting entry into the prompt for today. Seeing as
My Inktober drawing, Day 8, Teeth. Nothing more unsettling than the idea that common everyday objects could suddenly turn out to be horrifying, bloodthirsty, beings. Mimics? Yikes! #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay8 #Inktober2020Day8 #Inktober2020Teeth #DnD #DnDMimic Chrissy.
My Inktober drawing, Day 6, Rodent. I was musing about what rodent to draw when a friend told me to draw the ROUS from Princess Bride. I laughed and said I was going for a Tim Burton inspired Inktober. He replied "Princess Corpse Bride" and this idea was born! Thanks Aaron! #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay6 #Inktober2020Day6 #Inktober2020Rodent #CorpseBride #PrincessBride #ROUS #PrincessCorpseBride Chrissy.
My Inktober drawing, Day 5, Blade. I came up with this idea this morning while quietly reading. I wanted to draw it all day and finally found the quiet time in the late evening draw it while all the kids were asleep. #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay5 #Inktober2020Day5 #Inktober2020Blade Chrissy.
My Inktober drawing, Day 4, Radio. It took me awhile to figure out exactly what I wanted to draw for Inktober day 4. But, a Radio that is playing without being plugged in seemed the best option. My perspective needed some practice anyway. #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay4 #Inktober2020Day4 #Inktober2020Radio Chrissy.
My Inktober drawing, Day 3, Bulky. I was thinking about drawing Behemoth from Nightmare Before Christmas, but then this idea for a more original character hit me this morning and I had to go with it. This woman has a disturbing presence. #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay3 #Inktober2020Day3 #Inktober2020Bulky Chrissy.
My Inktober drawing, Day 2, Wisp. I am keeping the Tim Burton influence for the whole month, and hopefully these will all be as fun as this one. I have her entranced by Will-O'-The-Wisps from folklore. #Inktober2020 #InktoberDay2 #Inktober2020Day2 #Inktober2020Wisp Chrissy.
I sketched out the fried fish basket Sally gives Jack in The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm going with a Tim Burton theme for the art this year. It matches my Decor for Halloween. (Mostly Home Made!) I'm going to use Copic and Permanent Markers to draw and color the art. #Inktober2020 #Inktober #Inktober2020Day1 #Inktober2020Fish #NightmareBeforeChristmas #FanArt Chrissy.
